As an occupational therapist  myself, I am mindful of how the body moves, functions and heals. So when I needed body work for myself, I looked for someone who was knowledgeable not only in physical structure but also in human movement and integration of body systems, someone who would look at the whole person and not just treat symptoms.

The result was that I found Kaeli; her professional knowledge is matched by her remarkable intuition, and she has been an amazing support to me through a range of personal experiences over the years, from prenatal and postpartum recovery to effectively addressing persistent shoulder and back issues.

Prenatal, Labor + Postnatal Massage
Therapeutic massage specially structured to decrease the common physical discomforts of pregnancy, help prepare the body for labor, and support faster healing after labor. Sessions may incorporate numerous massage therapy techniques, breath and postural education, and labor preparation exercises. Each session is modified to address the specific physical, mental and emotional goals, of the client. In addition to the physical benefits of prenatal massage, mothers are offered a safe and quiet space in which to connect to their growing baby and to be present with the excitement, fears and hopes that arise throughout pregnancy and childbearing. Please visit our Mom & Baby page for more information.
Infant Massage Instruction
(private or group classes)
Classes teach parents or caregivers methods of massaging their babies to support bonding, relaxation, sleep, digestion and general health. Parents are supported in learning new techniques, but also encouraged to further massage and touch their babies each day.
Integrative Massage Therapy

Sessions incorporate multiple modalities to support structural and functional health and general wellbeing. Each session is unique, addressing the client’s requests and individual structure. Sessions may combine: relaxation massage, deep tissue massage, Thai Yoga massage, range of motion and stretching, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, passive holding release and energy work.

Deep Tissue Massage
A broadly used term that generally refers to working with the deeper layers of muscle. Our philosophy at Motion Center is that deep tissue massage means specific and focused work with muscles or muscle groups, tendons, ligaments and fascia. This may mean working on deep or superficial layers, depending on the level of restriction. We strive to maintain client comfort and work slowly into the deeper layers realizing that it is possible to work deeply without pain.
Muscular Therapy
An integrative system of massage based in Swedish massage, but also incorporating techniques from Shiatsu, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports massage, and other modalities. Both modalities have similar benefits, however Swedish massage focuses on supporting the cardiovascular and lymphatic systems, while Muscular Therapy works to support and bring positive change to the musculo-skeletal system.
Thai Yoga Massage
An ancient form of bodywork, Thai Massage developed first in India and then over hundreds of years in the Buddhist Temples of Thailand. Rooted in the Ayurvedic medicine of India, Thai Massage is simultaneously deeply relaxing and energizing, and provides the client with a unique experience of his or her structure, movement potential and energetic base. Thai Yoga Massage has the capacity to address a wide range of structural, physiological, and energetic conditions and goals. Sessions take place on a mat on the floor, with the client fully clothed. No oil or lotion is used. Practitioners, utilize their entire body as they guide clients through a series of yoga-like stretches, while applying palm and thumb pressure along the body’s energy (Sen) lines.
Open Circle offers massage therapy for "every body" in several modalities, including Thai yoga massage in Providence, Rhode Island.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

“After the birth of my daughter, it was a very stressful time and I endured a significant amount of back pain for about a month. I could barely get in and out of bed. However, after the therapeutic massage I felt almost immediately better! It was absolutely amazing. After about one week, I could do everything without pain. She worked thoroughly with attention to every detail to insure I was always comfortable and at a peaceful place during the massage.” -SS, Providence

“Thai Yoga Massages are the most invigorating, relaxing and energizing massage experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried many. Little aches and stiff points seem to evaporate, I feel two inches taller, and the muscular surrender that is part of the massage experience carries over into a feeling of intense surcease that lingers long after. Wonderful!” -RF, Providence

“Massage has really done wonders with our little [boy]. He is so much more comfortable with his body. He loves being changed now, and his digestion is less problematic.” -CZ, Providence

Thank you for the work you’ve done in helping me with my shoulder and arm during these last few weeks of pregnancy. This shoulder issue has bothered me for many years, and I’ve been in and out of therapy, massage, and chiropractic care to help it. Although there has been some success in the past, the work that you have done has been different — I often felt that practitioners had a standard “script” that they were following and it didn’t really get to the root of my problem. However, the work you have done each time has been very unique to me and the issues that I’m experiencing. The difference is noticeable in the relief I’ve had after our sessions. Thank you! It has really made a difference! –G.M. Providence
